According to Ms. Goetze’s introduction, this is a Brazilian song with three counter melodies which may be performed at many age levels. Skillful arranging leads students easily into three and four-part texture, but the piece is also successful if cuts are made so that one or more counter melodies are omitted. A Zing-A Za allows the children’s choral director to be creative with the movement and colorful costuming, if desired.
