This exuberant work utilizes the first several lines of the Latin Gloria text and is written as a traditional fugue. The Gloria theme is an altered D Major scale with interesting chromatic twists and leaps which exudes joy with every presentation. It first appears alone and is later paired with an equally outgoing secondary theme on the text Laudamus te. The music is developed over several expositions to an exciting climax.
