The National Women’s Choir did this piece last year at the ACDA Convention in Chicago and it was absolutely stunning. The piece was written in memory of a brother and sister who were lost in a car accident in 2006. Both siblings were active in their choral program and the piece was commissioned to honor their memories. The tranquil, relaxed melody builds through the different verses to create a beautiful, warm hymn-like arrangement. The text and the story of the arrangement lend itself to some lovely music making and thoughtful conversations. This is also on my “to do soon” list with my advanced women. I could see this becoming a traditional closing anthem for our spring concert. Rating: Medium-Difficult
