In Tanzania, where the AIDS epidemic was acute, Israel Kagaruki wrote Jenga Imani Yako as a song of encouragement to “Keep going and never give up, even in the midst of their hard times.” Some might find this great advice any time.

The Swahili text is easy to pronounce and there is a very clear guide as to style, but it is a lot of words. (The secret is that many choirs leave out the final verse – sh! Don’t tell.) While this is not a dance song, the music moves the feet and hearts of the singers and audience.
