This work, written in memory of Edwin Fissinger, was premiered at the 1993 ACDA national convention. A striking feature is the philosophical nature of the text and it’s rhythmic treatment. Ninety-seven meter changes reflect the ever-shifting text accentuations and provide a conducting challenge. This piece may be accessible to a good high school choir. “Look to this day. It is the very life of life. Yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision; But, today makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and today well lived makes every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
