This hauntingly beautiful Swedish folk song is published under the Tapiola Choral Series by Walton Publishers, so it brings with it the stamp of approval of one of the most skilled young choirs on the planet. The first sopranos have the melody, which talks simply of lost love and loneliness, while the other voices accompany first on a hum or “oo”, and later with a vocal jazz-type ostinato backing the hummed melody. This is haunting and luscious music.
