Make sure you have an excellent accompanist before you select this piece! This is one of the six pieces arranged by Donald Patriquin from his “Six Songs of Early Canada.” Patriquin is known for his arrangements of folksiness and instrumental pieces. This piece alternate between 9/8 and 6/8 and needs to be performed with great merriment from the singers. Savory, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme is a good piece for an advanced high school women’s choir, college ensemble, or a good community women’s ensemble.
