The music of Herzogenberg, although overshadowed by his contemporaries, Johannes Brahms and others, is beginning to find a larger place in the repertoire. The vocal lines of this piece are wonderful to sing. The piano accompaniment is demanding and a full partner with the voices. This would be an excellent addition to the Category I list for contest.
