This ballad is quickly becoming a favorite of my women this year. The melody is introduced by unison voices and then divides into two, before the first soprano is given a soaring descant-like harmonization of the refrain later in the song. This is a love song, but not set simply as so many women’s choir numbers seem to be. There is ample opportunity to wok on beautiful, piano lines and phrasing, along with more full, mezzo forte singing, too. Simply stated, this song is a winner.
